Late Season Ducks

Awesome late season duck hunt. These birds actually decoyed and responded quite well to call which I thought was unusual for this time of year. 12 ducks total. 11 mallards and a goldeneye. The weather was perfect but I swear that walk to and from the truck gets longer every season!!!

No patternmaster- we shot them on the Kansas(Kaw) river. Milford was/is iced over- for the most part.
They always give us a week in later january, season was closed in December, but opened again last weekend. Thes ducks did really like our set-up, though 2 days before(I think we shot 26 ducks/2geese that day), they were quite wary, took a lot of coaxing. Probably set-up/wind more than anything. Who cares- it was a hoot both times

I'd like to follow this blog but there's no link for follower's on the site that I can find. You guys look like pros to me. I've just started hunting and love it. I actually hunt in Japan. I am not able to hunt this year because I'm in Iraq for the entire season. I really enjoy your pics and com. Check out my fishing and short hunting posts. www.shumihanto.blogspot.com

Pros?!- Nah-hardly- I've come to believe that I am for sure as only as good as the area I am hunting- so in that aspect at least, I am blessed-sometimes.
